Discover all the best hotspots in Amsterdam: Tips not to be missed!

Although a visit to the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum cannot be missed while visiting our capital city, the dynamic Amsterdam offers a lot more! We’ve listed some Innsider tips for you, which at least the locals can’t get enough of! Also, influencer Michele, known on Instagram as MikyNate, shares his favourites hotspots in the capital.

Brouwerij ’t IJ

The most renowned brewery of Amsterdam is Brouwerij ’t IJ, famous for the brewing of solely specialty beers. Although the beer is being sold at lots of places in Amsterdam, there’s no better place to enjoy a good beer than at their very own terrace. Located in Amsterdam East, next to the windmill, the brewery brews its beers and serves as a bodega. When the sun is out, this is the best place to go.

EYE Film Institute

Take the free ferry from Amsterdam Central Station and explore Amsterdam North, where the impressive EYE Film Institute is located. The museum is remarkable for its exquisite and minimalistic design. Except for the most beautiful exhibitions and visual tours, you’re at the right place for a good movie. Besides, you can enjoy the magnificent view over a delicious lunch in its restaurant or terrace.

Foodhallen

The ‘Foodhallen’ in Amsterdam West is the very first indoor food market of The Netherlands, inspired by the big international food markets such as Mercado de San Miguel in Madrid and the Borough Market in London. Mingle with the locals and enjoy a good meal or some fine drinks. The Foodhallen are open daily from 11.00h – 23:30h, and Fridays and Saturdays till 01.00h. Wander around and discover tastes from all around the world. Aside from food & beverages, you’ll find a cozy cinema and small boutique shops.

Het Blauwe Theehuis – Vondelpark

Strolling through the Vondelpark was probably on top of your list already. And if so, don’t forget to hop by at ’t Blauwe Theehuis. A unique and recognizable premise because of her round shape and blue-white colored walls. Its terrace offers 700 seats and therefore is one of Europe’s biggest terraces. The first-floor has got the best view over the Vondelpark. Escape from the bustle and unwind with a good cup of coffee or an excellent beer, surrounded by greenery, pigeons, and green parakeets.

NDSM-Werf

The NDSM-Werf in Amsterdam North is a popular place to go for the habitants of Amsterdam. The more or less rural area transformed in a Walhalla for cultural events, projects, hospitality and unique shops. This is the place to go for dreamers, do-ers, pioneers, adventurers, artists and philosophers. Aside from lots of music festivals, there is the famous IJ-hallen market; the biggest and coziest flea market of Europe.

Favourites hotspots by Miky Nate

Favourite place to go shopping?
I love shopping at local shops in Amsterdam, like Very Goods Studio. I love the scented candles so much! They also organise candle-making workshops. It’s definitely worth going here.

Best photo spot?
My favourite photo location is definitely the Sloterplas (because I used to live there). I love that Amsterdam has so much nature nearby.

Restaurant recommendation?
Linguini is a great restaurant with Italian food of course! Delicious dishes and special atmosphere.

Staycation in Amsterdam
Inntel Hotels Amsterdam Landmark is for me the best place to stay in Amsterdam. I love their food, cocktails and especially the wellness (both in the room and the facilities on the 3rd floor).

Inntel Hotels Amsterdam Centre

After a day of wandering through our beloved Amsterdam, there is nothing better than a soothing comfortable room. Inntel Hotels Amsterdam Landmark is located in trendy Oostenburg and offers you a combination between the bustling centre of Amsterdam and the relaxed industrial atmosphere of Amsterdam East. This makes it the ideal base for your trip to the capital.
