Oosterpark
The Oosterpark has been a place to relax, exercise and enjoy nature for over a hundred years. The design by landscape architect Leonard Springer is inspired by the English landscape style. In the park you’ll find a winding pond containing a small island. You will also find sunbathing areas, a playground and a children’s play pond here. A special feature is the speaking stone. Every Sunday at 13:00h you can speak your mind here.

Hortus Botanicus
In Hortus Botanicus you can enjoy the wonderful plants year-round. The Hortus started in 1638 as a medicinal herb garden. Doctors and apothecaries studied these here. Medicinal herbs can still be found here, but the gardens and greenhouses contain so much more. Admire plants we thought were extinct like the Wollemi plant, make sure not to stand too close to the carnivorous plant or watch the fluttering butterflies in the butterfly house.

Artis
The eldest zoo In The Netherlands can be found in the heart of Amsterdam. Be surprised by the many animals that live with each other at Artis.
